Ideally, email marketing should go hand-in-hand with social media. Adding social media "Like" or "Share" buttons to your marketing emails gives an additional way for customers to connect with your brand. Snippets of positive reviews from social media fans can be included in emails, and conversely, social media postings can be used to encourage fans to subscribe to your email newsletters.
Whether you already have a list of subscribers or are starting from scratch, email marketing services can help. All of the services we cover let you add contacts manually using copy and paste or by uploading CSV or Microsoft Excel files. Some integrate with third-party software enabling you to import Gmail and other webmail contacts, Salesforce.com and other CRM data, or other software where you might have contacts stored. Depending on the size and location of your list, third-party integration could be key. Verify whether you can export contacts as well (and how easy it is to do so) should you leave the service. Managing users who unsubscribe should also be easy so you're not accidentally contacting anyone who has opted out of your newsletters.

"If I haven't told you already, your team of people are the Bomb! When I came to you I told you I was very reluctant about hiring a Search Engine Optimization firm because I was ripped off and sold a bunch of promises in the past-all of which failed. I honestly was still a skeptic until recently. We have gone from off the map for my two major keywords to the top twenty in 5 months so far. I have all the confidence that you can get me in the top ten! A special thanks goes to your optimization expert who has handled my demands for constant changes with such professionalism. I would highly recommend you to anyone who wants to be in the top of their field on the web. (Except any of my competitors !!!)" Randy W.

Email micro-courses are ideal for this too, because you can deliver useful information in short, easily-digested chunks, staggered over enough time that your prospect won’t be overwhelmed. It gives you the ability to offer ongoing value. But you can also use cheat-sheets, short videos or special reports, or even things like specialized calculators, and apps that generate useful content or structures.
Hi, Beth! Great tips here. I’m a big supporter of #3. It’s best to ensure that your audience isn’t receiving the same content, especially if they signed up for different categories. You should always have many lists, including a general one for the big announcements. But the rest should be divided by area of interest. I think a few email list builder give you the ability to add a “choose list” option in the form. That way, the subscriber chooses what they want to receive.
You can place the opt-in form on the landing page or an optin page that allows your visitors an easy access to it. The most common place to position your opt-in form is on the top of the sidebar of a an optin page, above the fold so that it is one of the first things that your visitors see and also so that they don’t have to scroll down to access it.
As of mid-2016 email deliverability is still an issue for legitimate marketers. According to the report, legitimate email servers averaged a delivery rate of 73% in the U.S.; six percent were filtered as spam, and 22% were missing. This lags behind other countries: Australia delivers at 90%, Canada at 89%, Britain at 88%, France at 84%, Germany at 80% and Brazil at 79%.[8]
This page was created to fill a gap in what was available to B2B marketers, but it’s been used with success across many industries. In fact, I’ve never seen it used poorly—perhaps because the layout practically forces you to be clear and succinct in your messaging, which it does via the limited number of bullets and a design that centers around a graphic representation of your lead magnet.
The first autoresponders were created within mail transfer agents that found they could not deliver an e-mail to a given address. These create bounce messages such as "your e-mail could not be delivered because..." type responses. Today's autoresponders need to be careful to not generate e-mail backscatter, which can result in the autoresponses being considered E-mail spam.
Gaining Google's trust doesn't happen overnight. It takes time. Think about building up your relationship with anyone. The longer you know that person, the more likely that trust will solidify. So, the reasoning is, that if Google just met you, it's going to have a hard time trusting you. If you want Google to trust you, you have to get other people that Google already trusts, to vouch for you. This is also known as link-building.
The reason I chose this opt-in page is because it showcases how your business can utilize email-gated content easily and often with templates and by re-purposing existing content. The truth of the matter is that I think this opt-in page could be optimized further, particularly encapsulating the form, contrasting the CTA, and adding a few design elements.

After your site has been built out, creating a social media presence is the best second step for most businesses. All businesses should have a Facebook Page that’s fully fleshed out with plenty of information about your business. Depending on your audience, you can also start a Twitter, Instagram, and/or Pinterest account. Social media is a long-term commitment that requires frequently updating and monitoring, but it’s one of the best ways to build an online community around your business.

"Jim, thanks for the great work. You and your team have been great and we are very happy with the results. Because of this, I wanted to give you a testimonial that you can share. On a nice spring day about a year ago, our site took a nose dive in the rankings on some of our most valuable keywords. I franticly begun searching SEO forums for the best people and ways to get us back to the top and I came a across Jim and his team. Jim was one of the most highly recommended link building Guru's out there, so I called Ninjas. To my surprise they couldn't take my money right away because they were busy working on other client accounts. They were very polite and explained that if they were to take my money that would have meant they could not spend the time they needed to spend on their client's accounts. Right there I knew these guys were for real. Biting my nails and pulling my hair, I patiently waited for two months so they could start working on my account and boy was I soooooo glad that I did. I finally got to speak with Jim, who is an awesome guy with a great sense of humor. I could say the same thing about my account manager and all of the Ninja team. After this meeting the work begun and the rest is history. I would highly recommend Jim Boykin and his team to anyone, even though part of me wants to keep them to myself. However I know they would not take on more than they can handle, unless they know they can put in the time needed to deliver results." Eric K.
Lopes led the team that won the email category at Marketing Week’s Masters of Marketing Award in 2017. The brand worked with artificial intelligence firm Phrasee to “create better subject lines in order to have better reach” and tech company Movable Ink to “turbocharge content” by using real-time data such as live weather feeds, pricing and numbers of people looking at certain offers. It also installed Adobe Campaign to centralise and coordinate communications across teams and channels.

"Long story short, we are in the middle of a BIG MOVE and all the quality traffic you've been driving to our web site has been keeping us busy. There hasn't been a night (except for maybe today, Memorial Day) where myself and our entire staff has not been burning the midnight oil trying to keep up with all the customers! Oh yeah, this is a GOOD THING. Sleep is over rated! :) Thanks for kicking ass (you are link ninjas... )!" Barry M.
"Please express my gratitude to the entire team at Internet Marketing Ninjas for an amazing training. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars this past year for training that didn't nearly compare. We gained more real world, practical, and relevant advice in one day with your team than we have after a year of attending every major internet marketing seminar and conference in the country. Again, thank you... we'll be back!" Jeremy T.

The principal rule of opting page design: Avoid distracting your prospects with banners and advertisements. Many internet users despise pop-ups that appear once the page loads immediately and block them from seeing website content. Website visitors will exit a webpage when they cannot easily close an obstructing optin page. Keep your page clear from anything that the ready may dislike. Importantly, you opting page should have a big visible button to turn off the popup. You can also design a splash page, one with a prominent statement like, “No thanks, continue to the main site.” You do not want your visitors to leave before they see what your site has to offer.

Email marketing has evolved rapidly alongside the technological growth of the 21st century. Prior to this growth, when emails were novelties to the majority of customers, email marketing was not as effective. In 1978, Gary Thuerk of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) sent out the first mass email[1] to approximately 400 potential clients via the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET). He claims that this resulted in $13 million worth of sales in DEC products,[2] and highlighted the potential of marketing through mass emails.
This also means that landing pages help you meet customers’ expectations. If you’re talking about conversion optimization on your Facebook page, and share a link to a landing page promising a relevant resource, people who follow the link will be reassured by finding what you’ve promised when they arrive at your landing page. It’s a great way to build trust. Compare that to just sending them to your homepage, where they can’t find the resource they were promised.
If you want to code your own emails, you have the freedom to do so. But this is an advanced skill that requires a good bit of technical know-how. Here’s what you need to take the coding leap—whether you’re just getting started, wondering about the basics of HTML emails, or looking for a guide to coding them. We’ve also rounded up a few more resources you might need as you become a certifiable email pro. If you're considering another platform, check out our comparison guide before you make any decisions.
Include a glossy word or two for shine. Polish might mean swapping in a few new words. Find a bland word in your copy, and replace it with a more dazzling synonym. Take the Collective Retreats landing page copy below. Instead of “Find destinations without losing luxury,” try “Explore extraordinary destinations without sacrificing luxury.” The bright adjective and stronger verbs adds punch to the copy.
Loved reading this! Which of these would you recommend so that I could set myself reminders on certain clients so that I can follow up with them in the future? I feel like I am doing a lot of extra steps that I might not have to do if I was using an actual marketing software. I am in the very beginning stages of getting my business out there and I would like to follow up with potential clients down the road with an email… is this a possibility or should I just keep using my excel spreadsheet!?
3. The responder should lead the reader to take ACTION! Sonia says “Paint the picture of what their life will look like with that problem solved” It’s not just about educating somebody! Don’t make your responder like a boring classroom lecture!!! Tell them a story. If you can use real stories from happy customers of your business, that’s outstanding.
