Gaining Google's trust doesn't happen overnight. It takes time. Think about building up your relationship with anyone. The longer you know that person, the more likely that trust will solidify. So, the reasoning is, that if Google just met you, it's going to have a hard time trusting you. If you want Google to trust you, you have to get other people that Google already trusts, to vouch for you. This is also known as link-building.

Anne also worked with Dr Sonia Andrianabela and CBM (Christian Blind Mission) using their model, to produce a good contract for the renovation of the prosthetics and orthotics workshop in Mahajanga. This is some 12hrs away from Tana and the rehabilitation unit is well run by Dr Bodo who graduated from our Diplome Universitaire(DU) course in 2013. As almost all rehab units in Madagascar, it is starved of resources; the workshop had fallen into disrepair so that the two technicians being trained in Tanzania till 2018 would return to find no equipment or materials to practise their new skills.  A generous Leeds charity has provided funding for renovation, the contract has been carried out correctly and (2018) the renovation is complete. Thanks to other NGOs the needed equipment has arrived and the materials will come soon.
But I'm not talking about any kind of link building. I'm talking about organic link building by getting out there and creating insatiable "anchor content" on your website, then linking to that content with equally-great content that's created on authority sites like Medium, Quora, LinkedIn and other publishing platforms. It's not easy by any measure. Google is far more wary of newcomers these days than it once used to be.

Go through each sentence in your copy and rewrite it to address your customers. One way to do this is to begin with the word “you.” Another tip is to start your sentence with a verb. Focusing on them nearly guarantees that your copy will address—and speak to—your visitor. Modern Fertility provides a good example of what this looks like:

It’s an app that helps you focus on taking notes at night, has a simple but effective design that looks current and isn’t cluttered with unnecessary information. Their use of dark colors helps tell their brand story. Their logo is present along with a screenshot of their app so that users can get a glimpse into what they will be seeing if they download it.
You also need specific expectations for your landing page, on which to gauge its success. These expectations can be based on previous experience, anecdotal evidence, or simply wishful thinking. But it’s helpful to have a specific number to compare your actual results with. This could be the total number of conversions, or the number of people who make it past your landing page, or some other number, based on your own goals.

Unbounce is one of the easiest to use, and lets you create landing pages without any IT experience. They have best-practices templates available that you can customize (or design your own page entirely from scratch), and flexible pricing (including a free plan for sites with limited traffic). Unbounce also integrates with Google Analytics for tracking your traffic, and Qualaroo for gathering user input.
The only information you need to communicate to your prospects is their email address. However, many optin pages will request a lot of information such as first name, last name, phone number, occupation, physical address,etc. All these extra information is unnecessary and not useful especially for converting prospects to clients or subscribers. Make the first name and email the maximum information you want to collect. In fact, label the name field is optional. Any information beyond email and optional name will scare away some sensitive and security-minded visitors.
Social media can also be used to extend the reach of your email marketing. Most email marketing software will give you the ability to sync your social media and email marketing accounts together. This means that when you send your email marketing newsletter, your cloud based software can also post a copy directly to your Twitter and Facebook feeds.

Many children in Madagascar have cerebral palsy probably mainly related to poor birthing. They were joined by two medical students from Leeds each doing a small piece of qualitative research under Anne’s supervision, facilitated by Dr Renaud and Dr Irene of the National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics (CAM).  We are confident that such research contributes to knowledge in- country and we always work jointly with our Malagasy colleagues to produce published research.
