Click through rates. Once your subscribers have opened your email, are they actually taking the action you need them to take? If you think that you have a low click-through rate, perhaps your body copy is not as effective as it needs to be. Consider the following: Is the copy of your email relevant to the subject line? Did you offer real value to your subscribers in the email? Is your call-to-action clear enough? Is the link easy to find?

If your landing page is tied to an email campaign, make sure that the landing page echoes the look and feel of the email. If the designs of the two are wildly different, your landing page visitors may wonder if they’ve ended up in the right place. The easiest way to do this is to carry over fonts, images, and colors from your email to your landing page.


You should start with a headline that grabs your user’s attention. This is perhaps the most important part of your landing page as it sets the stage for the rest of the content. Without a headline your page will fall flat. It should be the biggest font on your landing page so that it stands out from the rest of your content. Make sure your font is not all the same size. It’s so important to have hierarchy within any web page, especially a landing page.
Prioritizing clicks refers to display click ads, although advantageous by being ‘simple, fast and inexpensive’ rates for display ads in 2016 is only 0.10 percent in the United States. This means one in a thousand click ads are relevant therefore having little effect. This displays that marketing companies should not just use click ads to evaluate the effectiveness of display advertisements (Whiteside, 2016).[42]
The contextual email campaign, which aimed to be “visually appealing but also timely, relevant and valuable to each unique email recipient” in order to convert website visits into bookings, led to a 31% increase in site traffic. Awareness through emails opened, meanwhile, grew by 65% compared with the previous sales period, and total margin from CRM communications increased by 37% to £10.6m of revenue.
Check out this landing page from Slack. They have a witty headline that’s complemented by a video so that potential leads can see how Slack works. The trick here is you have to have a professional video that showcases your product or service. High quality content builds trust with potential customers. Ensure all of your content is created professionally by hiring a team of experts.  

Your call to action should be bold and catchy. Typically this is a button on your landing page that users click either to subscribe or go on to purchase your product. Dollar Shave Club has a simple landing page complete with a video but their call to action is “DO IT” – not your average run of the mill “subscribe” or “sign up”. Its big, bold and flows really nicely with their branding.


I have to say I’m so insanely jaded by autoresponders since I’ve been in the web marketing business that I snub the thought of using them personally…but isn’t that the temptation we can so easily fall into…especially since we forget that most people are UNDER exposed to them and see them for the fresh content, authority-inducing mechanism they are.
Historically, it has been difficult to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns because target markets cannot be adequately defined. Muzzle, a mac app that silences on-screen notifications, fully embraces this show don't tell mentality on their otherwise minimal landing page. Visitors to the page are greeted with a rapid-fire onslaught of embarrassing notifications in the upper left of the screen. Not only is the animation hilarious, it also manages to compellingly convey the app's usefulness without lengthly descriptions.
Perhaps InfluenceKit is a newer company, which is why there’s no data yet for how it’s paying off. But there’s power in being new. I’d suggest the founders share their own story and results thanks to InfluenceKit—being transparent all along that they’re the founders—to demonstrate that others can also benefit. Part of making a lasting first impression is creating a window for not only a prospect to relate, but act, and interact. That turns an impression into a relationship.
I’ve had great results asking for more info for opt-ins emails, the way I LOOK at it, the information is a good trade off for receiving something free, and the one’s that don’t fill it out weren’t serious about getting that special something for free. I run a free business listing site, and when I get just part of the info about the company, I won’t list that company.

The headline here is “Get access to 85% of my best business hacks.” As you can see it’s the largest text on the page. It leads the reader in to entering their email and then some additional text that explains what information you will have access to once you provide your email. Another excellent component of this landing page is that they have included a testimonial. Not only does this give some insight into what kind of person Noah is but it also gives the potential lead an extra push. The majority of the time a customer makes a decision before they even get to your site by reading reviews and testimonials.
The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 was passed by Congress as a direct response to the growing number of complaints over spam emails.[citation needed] Congress determined that the US government was showing an increased interest in the regulation of commercial electronic mail nationally, that those who send commercial emails should not mislead recipients over the source or content of them, and that all recipients of such emails have a right to decline them. The act authorizes a US $16,000 penalty per violation for spamming each individual recipient.[19] However, it does not ban spam emailing outright, but imposes laws on using deceptive marketing methods through headings which are "materially false or misleading". In addition there are conditions which email marketers must meet in terms of their format, their content and labeling. As a result, many commercial email marketers within the United States utilize a service or special software to ensure compliance with the act. A variety of older systems exist that do not ensure compliance with the act. To comply with the act's regulation of commercial email, services also typically require users to authenticate their return address and include a valid physical address, provide a one-click unsubscribe feature, and prohibit importing lists of purchased addresses that may not have given valid permission.[citation needed]
Create eye catching headlines. Most good landing pages use the main headline to confirm the offer and use a sub heading for more explanation or value proposition (aka why your offer is awesome).  An example might be, “Free Facebook Marketing Ebook (headline), Learn how to get more Facebook followers, likes, and engagement from our marketing gurus (sub heading).” You’ll see plenty of great landing page headlines in our examples below, and you’ll see that some invert this so that the value proposition is the headline.
